As Manchester United gear up for a squad rebuild at senior level, the club are also planning the next step in development for several of its most promising academy players.
After a year that saw loan stints for the likes of Dan Gore, Joe Hugill, Ethan Wheatley and Jack Kingdon, attention has now turned to who will be next to benefit from a temporary move away from Old Trafford.

United’s academy remains a hotbed of young talent.
This summer could see a wave of loan activity once again as the club looks to give their prospects regular minutes in senior football.
With Ruben Amorim’s tactical system making it difficult for some of United’s younger players to break through, the club are prepared to let several head out to the EFL and beyond.
Stockport County have now made enquiries for two of them.
The League One side, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship after finishing just five points behind Wrexham, are eager to bolster their squad this summer.

Particularly after last season’s loanees failed to make a lasting impact.
Jack Moorhouse, 19, is one of the players being targeted.
The Manchester-born midfielder spent much of the past season on the fringes of the first team, named on the bench for matches against Tottenham, Arsenal, and both legs of the Europa League quarter-final against Lyon.
Despite that, Moorhouse has yet to make a senior debut and looks increasingly likely to be loaned out.
Stockport are making early moves, but will have to fight off interest from Huddersfield Town too.
Ethan Williams also of interest to Stockport
Ethan Williams is the other player on Stockport’s radar, according to Football Insider.
The winger spent the second half of last season with Cheltenham in League Two, impressing with four goal contributions in just 778 minutes.
Manchester United want to send him to a higher level next season.
Stockport are pushing to land the talented attacker as they aim to finally seal promotion to the second tier.
After seeing limited success with previous loan moves from Manchester City – including Micah Hamilton and Lewis Fiorini – Stockport are hoping a switch in focus to United’s ranks could yield better results.
If they succeed in securing both Moorhouse and Williams, it would represent a major double coup as they build towards a stronger 2025–26 campaign.
