Manchester United have made a ‘few timid attempts’ to sign Victor Osimhen but the finances of the deal for him are proving prohibitive for a move to the Premier League.
That’s [according to Corriere del Mezzogiorno](https://napoli.corriere.it/), who report that the striker’s future is very much a soap opera at this point in time.
They say he is the most sought-after striker of the moment, particularly with Napoli happy to let him go and use the funds from a transfer for their own transfer plans.
Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is refusing to compromise on a €75m clause, which is only valid for sides outside of Italy. Reports in France have stated that Al-Hilal are keen and were recently in Paris to discuss contract terms.
Osimhen, though, has not yet officially decided but was certainly swayed by the figures the Saudi Arabian side are proposing. It’s €135m over three years and they want an answer in the next few days.
Galatasaray have also presented an offer after his loan deal this season, which is worth €16m per season, but Osimhen is showing a desire to wait for Premier League offers.
The problem there is that Manchester United are the only ones to have made ‘a few timid attempts’ for him at this moment. In other words, their efforts are nowhere near as strong, perhaps even financially speaking, as what the others have put forward, certainly not Saudi Arabia.
Napoli are keen to cash in, yet Osimhen is holding out, perhaps hoping that Manchester United or other Premier League sides suddenly find a lot of TV money down the back of the sofa.
