It has been a somewhat frantic start to the summer for Wolves – and Rayan Ait-Nouri appears to be on his way out of Molineux.
This window is a big one for Wolves.
The club just finished 16th in the Premier League, which is the lowest finish since returning to the top-flight in 2018.
But 2025 has been good so far thanks to the arrival of Vitor Pereira, who really turned things around after an awful start to the season for Wolves under Gary O’Neil.
Many feel that, with some decent backing, Pereira could get Wolves to push up the table.
But Pereira is going to lose some players, and Manchester City are confident of signing Ait-Nouri.
He was always someone who could have been on his way this summer, since he’s been at the club for a few years now and has a high market value.
It seems the wheels are in motion, and there has today been an update regarding when personal terms could be agreed.

It’s been suggested by journalist Ben Jacobs that Ait-Nouri could reach an agreement on personal terms within the next 24-48 hours.
He said this in a video over on The Football Terrace YouTube channel, which was streamed live around six hours ago.
Once those terms are finalised, there will then be an approach to Wolves from City.
Jacobs said: “Manchester City are getting very close now to agreeing terms with the player. I would expect that to be done within the next 24 to 48 hours.
“They haven’t yet placed a bid to Wolves. The clubs are in informal dialogue. Wolves know a bid is coming. The price will be interesting, because it’s not quite as clear-cut as the Cunha release clause.
“Even Wolves wanted Cunha to go, because they appreciated that he wanted a new challenge. And they want to start spending some of that £62.5 million.
“With Ait-Nouri, the difference is that Wolves have also got the bones of a two-year contract on the table for Ait-Nouri to extend, and I think there’s a one-year option in there as well.
“It’s not at the point where it’s done or even close. But that shows you their original summer desire was to reward Ait-Nouri and to try and keep him. Because of that, I expect Wolves, if they do sell, to stand a bit firmer on price.”
It has been suggested Wolves value Ait-Nouri at over £40 million, and the club have to factor in the 50% sell-in clause that Angers have. But Wanderers are expected to buy that out for around £9.5 million.
Wolves are active over potential Ait-Nouri replacement
Wanderers knew there was a chance that Ait-Nouri could be leaving, and the positive of the situation is that it’s happening now, and not late in the window.
The club are already in the mix to sign a replacement for the Algerian.
Molineux News has been told that Clement Bischoff of Brondby is of interest to Wolves.
Hugo Bueno is also a player who could succeed Ait-Nouri, after doing well out on loan at Dutch giants Feyenoord in 2024/25.
