Ott began his NBA career in 2013 as a video coordinator with Atlanta under Mike Budenholzer, who he’ll be replacing in Phoenix.
He’s also been an assistant with the Lakers and Nets.
Cavs assistant Johnnie Bryant was the other Suns finalist and may also be in the running for the Knicks opening.
Ott, 35, is from Pennsylvania and did not play college or pro basketball.
He got his master’s degree from Michigan State, which is also the alma mater of Suns owner Mat Ishbia.
