Man Utd have made contact to sign £37.8million player–Report

Old Trafford

Manchester United have a huge summer ahead of them. The Red Devils need to find a way to reinforce the squad while also understanding that they do not have blessed coffers.

What the English club needs is to be clever in their transfer dealings and make sure they rebuild without disturbing the foundation.

One way to loosen the purse strings is by moving on players who are not in Ruben Amorim’s plans. The Portuguese tactician has a lot of deadwood that he might be looking to move on and getting them off the wage books could open up the room for new signings.

Now, as per Caught Offside, Man Utd are among a host of clubs interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion left-back Perves Estupinian.

The South American left-back has impressed for the Seagulls for the past couple of years and he looks set to be available for a fee of around £37.8million this summer.

Apart from the Red Devils, clubs like Chelsea, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in the left-back. Despite the player having a contract until 2027, the Seagulls are willing to let him go for a bargain price amid the immense interest in him.

The 27-year-old is very good, both going forward and in defense but has an injury history that is far from desirable. Whenever he plays, he is extremely consistent.

However, for Man Utd, it might not make sense for the club to go in hard to sign Estupinian, especially considering they just signed Patrick Dorgu in January.

The former Lecce star might not have exactly hit the ground running at Old Trafford. However, Dorgu was an investment that Ruben Amorim made and the Portuguese tactician will surely be trusting the left wing-back to have a better first full season in England.

Manchester United currently don’t have the luxury to sign multiple players for the same position. Their current squad resembles that of a ship with many holes and it is more important to address them rather than adding multiple players capable of playing in the same position.

Much of the Red Devils’ transfer business this summer could directly be dictated by how many sales they are able to make this summer.

Man Utd have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves. It could be the first among a list of names walking through the door at Old Trafford. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
