Liverpool's deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz is now '99% done' according to the Daily Mail's German sources, as per a report on Wednesday.
The Reds have been trying to get a transfer over the line for the Germany international in recent weeks after he made it clear he wanted to move to Anfield, rather than Bayern Munich.
Now it appears as though they may have made a breakthrough in negotiations according to what is being said in Wirtz's home country.

The Daily Mail reported this afternoon that, according to their sources in Germany, Wirtz is one step away from sealing a move to Anfield.
The proposed deal is said to be an incentivised one that would smash Liverpool's current transfer record, with reports previously suggesting Leverkusen were demanding €150m for their prized asset.
The report also states that the 22-year-old is 'extremely keen' to link up with Arne Slot on Merseyside, and he could become Liverpool's third signing of an already busy summer.

Liverpool have already completed the signing of Wirtz's Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong following Trent Alexander-Arnold's exit to Real Madrid, while GIVEMESPORT sources understand they are also close to agreeing a deal to bring Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez to Anfield to strengthen the left-back position.
Slot is clearly keen to bolster his Premier League title-winning squad early in the summer, ensuring they are even better next season to not only defend their English top flight, but to also try to advance further in the Champions League.

Liverpool won't stop after the aforementioned three players either, with a new centre-forward also on the agenda should Darwin Nunez leave, as is expected.
GIVEMESPORT sources believe the Reds have explored a potential deal for Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, while Newcastle United's Alexander Isak is still viewed as the 'dream' target.
