Liverpool are thought to be 'perplexed' by speculation touting star winger Luis Diaz for a move away from Anfield in the summer transfer window - with the Premier League winners not looking to sell their Colombian superstar, according to respected journalist Paul Joyce.

Diaz joined from Porto over three years ago, and has since become a fan favourite on Merseyside, scoring 41 goals in just 148 games in his time at Anfield, winning four major trophies and finishing as a runner-up in the Champions League. But with links touting him with the exit door, Joyce has claimed that the Reds are puzzled by such rumours.

The report by The Times reporter Paul Joyce states that Liverpool aren't looking to sell Diaz, despite speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia - with the Colombia forward having also been linked with La Liga champions Barcelona.

The Reds say that they have received 'no expressions of interest' in Diaz, and aren't looking to actively sell the former Porto star despite being tipped for the exit door.

This is now the second summer in a row that Diaz has been the subject of 'fierce' speculation, with Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr thought to be ready to pay up to £71.5million for the Colombian to bring him to the Middle East.

However, Liverpool are understood to be 'perplexed' by the rumours surrounding Diaz's future once again, especially after a season which yielded 25 goal contributions in just 50 games - including 13 goals in the Premier League alone.

Diaz's versatility has been key; being able to play on his favoured left-wing or as a striker, which made him a valuable player for manager Arne Slot, who utilised his ability to feature across the front line in Liverpool's Premier League title win.

Liverpool, on the contrary, aren't planning to open talks with Diaz just yet despite only having two years left on his contract, which could entice Barcelona in the future. However, with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal starring in their Spanish top-flight win and Champions League semi-final campaign, he would likely only act as backup at the Camp Nou.
