Manchester City and Arsenal will be hoping to dethrone Liverpool and win the Premier League title in the 2025/2026 season.

Pep Guardiola aims to win the Premier League again and having won six titles in eight full seasons, he would be desperate to take City back to the top.

Oleksandr Zinchenko called Guardiola a “winner” and even the Gunners will be aware that in the following campaign, the Catalan tactician will be doing everything in his power to win his seventh title.

For Mikel Arteta, his motivation will be to finally lead Arsenal to the promised land after three successive campaigns where his side have finished in second place while also failing to win the Champions League in successive seasons.

Steven Gerrard says Man City will be Liverpool’s Premier League title rivals next season

Steven Gerrard was asked whether he reckons Manchester City or Arsenal will be Liverpool’s biggest challengers next season.

Being a Reds legend, the Champions League winner would be hoping that Arne Slot, who recently met Rayan Cherki to strengthen his former side retains the title.

However, Steven Gerrard told TNT Sports that Liverpool should be “wary” of Manchester City more than Arsenal in the title race next season: “I think you have to be wary of City and Guardiola. Best manager in the world, they’ve done it four years on the spin, they lost Rodri, which was a big blow for them.”

“I think with a fully-fit squad, I think the team that finishes above City will win it again.”

Ilkay Gundogan fired Premier League title warning at Liverpool

Khaldoon Al-Mubarak revealed Manchester City’s squad are motivated ahead of the following term, with Rodri willing to play games and Erling Haaland willing to forego his summer vacation.

With this Manchester City squad full to the brim with winners and managed by Pep Guardiola, it is understandable that Steven Gerrard is backing them to challenge Liverpool more than Arsenal.

Ilkay Gundogan is confident about Manchester City’s future and believes they can challenge Liverpool and Arsenal to the wire in the title race next season.

“At the end of the season, the feeling is positive in the way we’ve performed in the last two months since the last international break.”

Gundogan continued: “If we were able to perform in that way throughout the whole season it would be a completely different outcome for us in the end. That’s the target for next year, to learn from all the mistakes in the campaign, to take that last couple of months as the standard and expectation going into the Club World Cup and the next Premier League season.”

‘I’m very confident that if we’re able to do that, we’ll definitely bounce back and be in competition for the Premier League title. These are the standards that this team, this club has set over the last few years, the last decade. Unfortunately nothing less than that is enough in a very competitive Premier League.”
