With so much changing around him, it’s easy to understand why things were very much uncertain when it came to Igor Tudor’s status at Juventus beyond the Club World Cup. That comes after the coach had his post-Venezia win “outburst,” as his agent described it, that involved a whole lot release of the tension and potential frustration around the situation.

On Wednesday, the era in which Juventus’ front office is led by Damien Comolli and Giorgio Chiellini officially began. And, as you can imagine, there was a meeting with Tudor, who has been leading a limited group of senior team players as CWC preparation begins.

The overall consensus about said meeting: things are looking good for Tudor.

According to reports out of Italy from the likes of ilbianconero.com as well as Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio later in the day on Wednesday, Tudor is heading toward “increasingly likely confirmation” for the 2025-26 season. Per Di Marzio, Juventus’ desire following the meeting is to continue with Tudor beyond this summer, with “the feelings filtering through are increasingly positive” following the meeting at Continassa. That would mean Tudor — who reportedly had a clause in his contract activated for the 2025-26 campaign with Juventus’ Champions League qualification — could very well be in for a new contract beyond next season, according to the reports.

On top of all this, Di Marzio concludes his report saying that Juventus have “put aside” any other potential coaching options, with the Club World Cup now just two weeks away.

In the week and a half since Juventus’ Serie A season came to a close, Tudor has heard nothing but rumors about his future as well as candidates who could take over the job he still currently has. The big fish was Antonio Conte, who decided to stay at Napoli after leading the club to their second Serie A title in three years. Once Conte was out of the picture, there were reports that Gian Piero Gasperini was the next name up. Instead, he went to Roma after his nine-year run at Atalanta came to an end last week.

That resulted in rumors of managerial options that were ... less than impressive or inspiring.

So as Tudor returned to Continassa this week to begin training for the Club World Cup, nobody really knew what the chances of him staying actually were. Yes, the “outburst” from the post-game interviews after beating Venezia were a thing of the past, but there was always going to be that all-important chat once the new-look front office arrived.

That happened on Wednesday. And it looks like Tudor could very well be set to be confirmed as Juventus’ manager for next season. No more interim tag. None of that. The chance to actually settle down rather than fight for his and Juve’s life for nine games like we saw once he replaced Thiago Motta in March.
