Jack Grealish will not travel to the Club World Cup and is likely to depart Manchester City this summer, according to The Telegraph.

Grealish, who will undoubtedly attract interest from clubs in the Premier League and abroad, has played 157 times for City and played a key role in their treble-winning campaign.

The 29-year-old is desperate to force his way into Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup plans, and the club are keen to help him.

Of course, the winger will need regular football to achieve that, especially considering the array of talent that England has to offer with the likes of Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon.

Grealish started just seven games in the league this season but it’s understood City will help him find a new club, as he himself will use the summer to prepare for a fresh start.

City are currently pursuing plans with AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders and Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki, who they will try to sign before June 10 – the deadline for signatures if they are wanting to travel for the Club World Cup.

Reports suggest Grealish won’t be part of the Club World Cup squad, though City haven’t announced their travelling squad.

Grealish moved to City for a fee of £100m and earns in the region of £300,000 per week. A permanent move would expectedly take a while to negotiate.

“It’s nothing personal with Jack” – Guardiola

Grealish was omitted from the final day squad against Fulham at Craven Cottage and City boss Guardiola spoke highly of the winger.

He said: “Of course, Jack has to play. He’s an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days. It didn’t happen this season and last season either. He needs to do it, with us or another place.

“It’s a question for Jack, his agent and the club. If he stays it will be fine and he will fight like he fought from day one to make a contribution, but not today.

*“It’s nothing personal with Jack. I’m the person who fought for him to come here and the person who fought for him to stay here this season. I’m the one who said I want Jack Grealish. What happens in the future is a job for Txiki [Begiristain, current director of football], Hugo [Viana, incoming director of football] and the agents.”*
