Buccaneers Cornerback Featured in Top 32 Rankings

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have plenty of star power on the roster, and added more this offseason via free agency and the draft.

While most of the stars line up on offense, there are a few players on defense who often get overlooked in the national rankings of players, especially during the offseason.

Pro Football Focus just ranked the top 32 cornerbacks in the NFL, and the Bucs' Jamel Dean showed at No. 17.

17. Jamel Dean, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

"Consistency is highly valued in the NFL, and there might not be any cornerback more consistent year-to-year than Dean. His worst season resulted in a 72.5 PFF overall grade, while his best produced a 78.9 figure. He ranks 11th in PFF advanced coverage grade over the past two seasons and did not allow a touchdown in coverage in 2024."

Dean is sandwiched in between the Eagles' Quinyon Mitchell at No. 16 and the Patriots' Carlton Davis III at No. 18.

He's also the highest-ranked of the three players in the NFC South on the list, in front of the Falcons' AJ Terrell at No. 24 and Jaycee Horn of the Panthers at No. 25.

Dean was a third-round pick of the Bucs in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Auburn.

In 82 career games with 63 starts, Dean has posted 313 total tackles with 247 solo and six for loss. He's added 52 passes defended with one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries and eight interceptions including a ppick-6.
