If there was one key issue for the Buffalo Bills offense last season, it was the lack of a true No. 1 receiving option. With the trade of Stefon Diggs during the offseason, it left a hole in the group that many thought held the team back throughout year.
Buffalo was in many ways fine without Diggs, though. Josh Allen won the league's MVP award, and the team still managed to reach the conference championship game.
But now?
With the free agent addition of former Los Angeles Chargers wideout Joshua Palmer, the team believes a minor addition like this will help enhance their offense.
Formally speaking to reporters for the first time this offseason, Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady provided an evaluation of the veteran receiver.
“I've been a fan of Josh's since he was coming out," said Brady. "He's a very intelligent football player, conscientious - wants to know the why and the big picture to everything. Kind of a seamless fit for our room."
Palmer has recorded three straight seasons of over 500 yards. His best year came in 2022 with the Chargers when he caught over 70 passes and over 700 yards. He is considered a deep threat and should be an immediate help to Buffalo's offense.
Especially with Allen's arm strength a positive part of the group as well.
If Palmer can put forth the kind of production that he was able to in Los Angeles than the Bills offense will be so much better than last year.
