Antoine Semenyo emerges as£50m Arsenal transfer target as Jorginho exit timeline revealed

The summer transfer window is up and running, and Arsenal are expected to do business as Mikel Arteta tries to strengthen his squad and bring home some silverware next season. The Gunners finished second in the Premier League for the third season in a row and reached the semi-final of the Champions League.

However, there is a hope that Arsenal can go one better in the top flight in 2025/26 and work has started on the Gunners' attempts to bolster their ranks for the new campaign. Arteta wants to add new faces as they bid to challenge for the title once again next term.

First, Martin Zubimendi is expected to arrive in a £51million transfer from Real Sociedad. Then, Arsenal's priority is set to turn to signing a new No.9, with a number of players linked to fill that role. RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko is one, while Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres is another.

Here is the latest transfer news from the Emirates Stadium...

Semenyo targeted

GIVEMESPORT claims that Arsenal are targeting a move for Antoine Semenyo this summer, but are yet to make a formal approach for the Ghana international. Manchester United are also said to be keen on a move for the 25-year-old winger, who has impressed for Andoni Iroala's side this season.

Semenyo has scored 11 goals and notched five assists in 37 Premier League appearances for the Cherries this season and Bournemouth will reportedly ask for a fee in the region of £50million for his services.

Kieran King of FL says : "I think Semenyo is a talent and would improve Arsenal's squad, but I am not sure he is the answer at this moment in time. The Gunners might have a restricted transfer budget and only able to make a couple of big-money additions, and Semenyo isn't one I would make.

"First, Arsenal must splash the cash on a centre forward - that is for certain. Once that is done, the Gunners need to prioritise signing another attacking midfielder to help support Martin Odegaard. Then if they have money to spend, a recognised left winger would be preferred."

Jorginho transfer

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho flew to Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday before signing for Flamengo on Friday.

Globo reports that the player will have a medical and then sign a three-year contract with the Brazilian club. They reputedly reached an agreement weeks ago, with Jorginho deciding to terminate his deal with Arsenal immediately because of a desire to play at the Club World Cup.

Doing so is said to see the player lose out on the £500,000 after an impasse over a bonus for this month, the last remaining on his deal with the Gunners. However, his new terms with Flamengo are reportedly worth £11million over three years.

Kieran King of FL says : " It's a move that makes sense for the parties involved. As Arsenal are not involved in the Club World Cup, he is not needed this month and therefore a move to Flamengo early would be the sensible one.

"Jorginho has been a good servant for the Gunners, even if he has only been there for two-and-a-half years, and there is no doubt he is going to be a miss in the dressing room next season."
