Demie Sumo-Karngbaye invited to Ravens training camp

Former Kentucky running back Demie Sumo-Karngbaye has received a training camp invite with the Baltimore Ravens.

After playing two seasons at NC State, Sumo-Karngbaye suited up in 24 games for the Wildcats over two seasons, including eight starts, totaling 149 rushes for 725 yards and six touchdowns. He also recorded 34 receptions for 223 yards and one score.

As a senior in 2024, Sumo-Karngbaye registered team-highs in carries (129), rushing yards (586), and touchdowns (5) while averaging 4.5 yards per carry with 20 receptions for 154 yards. His 98 rushing yards vs. Georgia are the most-ever by a Wildcat vs. a No. 1 team.

Over the course of his collegiate career, Sumo-Karngbaye accumulated over 1,400 yards from scrimmage and 11 total touchdowns.

The Buffalo Bills selected Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston in the first round and nose tackle Deone Walker in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, marking the seventh consecutive draft Kentucky has had multiple players selected, which includes a total of 26 players over that span dating back to 2019.

Sumo-Karngbaye becomes the sixth Wildcat to get a crack at making an NFL roster as safety Zion Childress (Dallas Cowboys), linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson (Green Bay Packers), offensive tackle Marques Cox (Denver Broncos), center Eli Cox (Houston Texans) and defensive tackle Tre'vonn Rybka (Miami Dolphins) all signed NFL deals as undrafted free agents.

Coming out of Willingboro, N.J., Sumo-Karngbaye was rated as a 3-star prospect and ranked as the No. 54 running back in the class of 2021 by 247Sports.
