'It's from the club': Sunderland star Trai Hume has just lifted the lid on his future amid…

Everton are in the market for a right-back this summer transfer window.

Ashley Young has announced he will leave Everton upon the expiry of his contract after two years on Merseyside.

Seamus Coleman is out of contract later this month, however, David Moyes has already confirmed he will be staying in some capacity.

Coleman isn’t getting any younger, so there is a pressing need to sign a new right-back, and Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey has been linked to Goodison Park.

Sunderland full-back Trai Hume has also emerged as a target for Moyes, and now he’s lifted the lid on his future amid links to Everton.

Hume has now lifted the lid on his future at the Stadium of Light and has confirmed that any talk of an exit is from the club’s side.

“I’ve said it ever since I moved to Sunderland, I really love my football here,” the Northern Ireland international said.

“I love playing. I love the club, I’m happy where I’m at, if anything happens it’s from the club. I love playing for Sunderland so I’m happy being there.”

Everton could now turn to Kyle Walker-Peters

Everton looked at signing Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters during the winter transfer window, but ultimately, the Friedkins decided to keep their powder dry for a big summer spend.

Walker-Peters is now set to become a free agent, with his Saints contract up at the end of the month, so there’s a good opportunity to get a bargain.

The former England international would allow Jake O’Brien to move back into his favoured role at the heart of defence.

Everton have also explored a deal to sign Galatasaray’s Elias Jelert.
