It feels as though Danilo could be about to leave Nottingham Forest, with clubs starting to declare their interest in the player.
Forest are anticipating a high demand for the player who joined the City Ground ranks for £16 million from Palmeiras in January 2023.
Danilo helped Forest remain in the Premier League with some red-hot form at the back end of the 2022/23 campaign and was a regular in the team under Steve Cooper.
Last season was a tough one for Danilo, however. He broke his ankle 10 minutes into the new season and although he returned in January, he was never quite handed the run of games he so desperately craved.
Lyon are linked with Danilo, but another club is now waiting patiently in the background to swoop should that move collapse at the eleventh hour.

Besiktas to make move for Nottingham Forest star Danilo
According to Turkish outlet FotoSpor, Besiktas are ready to make an offer for Danilo as they look for a replacement for outgoing player Atiba Hutchinson.
However, their offer will likely be a loan deal initially, with a purchase option at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, different to Lyon’s offer to take him permanently from the off.
Lyon have seen their move for Danilo stall, however. John Textor wanted to include a clause that suggested the midfielder would go to Botafogo – one of the other clubs he owns – at some point in the future, and that’s been rejected by the player.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Danilo is only 24 and will be keen to get regular minutes under his belt following the severe injury that robbed him of a consistent run of games last season.
Selling Danilo shouldn’t be difficult for Forest
Danilo is a talented boy, and it’s perhaps a little bit risky that Forest are willing to let him leave, with Nicolas Dominguez currently ruled out with an injury.
However, Forest have big plans this summer and perhaps a central midfielder will sit among the list of targets currently being mulled over at boardroom level.
Selling Danilo shouldn’t be difficult, however. He’s at a nice age to keep improving, and he’s proven time and time again at Forest that he is capable in a top European league.
Forest are signing Igor Jesus and two of his Botafogo teammates in the coming weeks. As a result, the squad needs streamlining, and it appears only a matter of time before his future gets resolved.
