With Kyrie Irving sidelined due to an ACL tear, the Dallas Mavericks are exploring their options at the guard position—and according to NBA insider Marc Stein, there's mutual interest between the team and Dante Exum in working out a new deal.

Exum has spent the last two seasons in Dallas and reportedly has received interest from EuroLeague teams.
The Mavs hold his Early Bird rights. That allows them to offer him a raise from his $3.15 million salary this past season.
Over the last two years, the Aussie has appeared in 75 regular-season games, averaging 8.0 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game despite battling multiple injuries.
The 29-year-old made his NBA return in the summer of 2023 after two strong EuroLeague seasons with FC Barcelona (2021–22) and Partizan Belgrade (2022–23). Exum signed a 2-year, $6.15 million contract with Dallas on July 14, 2023.
Originally selected fifth overall by the Utah Jazz in the 2014 NBA Draft, Exum has seen his career repeatedly interrupted by injuries, including a torn ACL that forced him to miss the entire 2015–16 season.
