Manchester United have launched their opening bid to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, according to [The Athletic](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6398630/2025/06/04/bryan-mbeumo-manchester-united-transfer/).
The Red Devils offer is worth up to £55 million, with £45m initial fee plus £10m in add-ons.
But the Bees may reject their proposal as it is some way below the kind of fee they would like for the 25-year-old.
It is said that talks continue between the two clubs as United are hopeful of securing a deal for the talented forward.
Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have also been linked with an interest, but Ruben Amorim’s side are currently leading the race for the highly-rated player.
Mbeumo has a year left on his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium, with the club having an option to extend it by another year.

This means the Cameroon international wants a five-fold increase on his current £50,000-a-week salary if the transfer materialises.
Mbeumo has been excellent with his performances for Brentford since joining the club in 2019.
He helped the Bees to secure Premier League promotion in 2021 and has also been a consistent performer in the English top-flight.
The right winger has scored 70 goals and added 51 assists in 242 appearances across all competitions for Thomas Frank’s side.
The 2024-25 season proved to be his most productive as he scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in 42 total games.
