Nottingham Forest will be desperately hoping that Morgan Gibbs-White remains at the City Ground beyond the summer transfer window.
Gibbs-White was instrumental during the 2024/25 campaign as Forest qualified for the UEFA Conference League with a seventh-place finish, scoring seven goals and registering 10 assists.
His form was so impressive that Manchester City showed interest in Gibbs-White. Pep Guardiola is a huge fan, and it will be a big summer for the Citizens following a first trophyless season.
City’s interest is waning somewhat in Gibbs-White. They perhaps have bigger fish to fry, but it feels as though Forest aren’t out of the woods just yet when it comes to the player’s future.

Chelsea stance on Morgan Gibbs-White now revealed
Journalist Ben Jacobs comes alive at this time of the year as a respected transfer guru, and he’s now made a claim about Gibbs-White and potentially being on the radar of Chelsea.
It’s not a surprise that some of the country’s biggest clubs are courting Gibbs-White, given what he’s achieved at Forest during his three years on Trentside.
Thankfully, it doesn’t feel as though their interest is anything substantial at the moment, but Enzo Marseca appears to be monitoring things.
Jacobs told the Chelsea podcast on Playback TV: “Nothing to get excited about yet, but a new name I’m hearing is Morgan Gibbs White, #CFC internally appreciate him but nothing more at this stage.”

Morgan Gibbs-White must sign new contract if he remains at Forest
Forest have to get serious this window if they want to keep Gibbs-White and act like a savvy football club.
It’s fine and well keeping Gibbs-White, but if he doesn’t pen a new contract, this situation will arise again in 12 months, and his valuation will plummet with a year remaining on his deal.
Gibbs-White will hopefully sign a contract, even if it’s a similar situation to the one which Murillo signed, allowing Forest to preserve the valuation.
The vice-captain on Trentside is so important to the way in which Forest play, and Nuno Espirito Santo would love to continue building his team around Gibbs-White next season.
