Julian Alvarez’s agent has been fluttering his eyelids in Barcelona’s direction and made it clear the striker would be keen to play for the club.

Barcelona have been linked with Alvarez in the past, with Joan Laporta thought to view the [Argentina international as the best successor to Robert Lewandowski.](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/4/28/24418857/joan-laporta-sees-julian-alvarez-as-the-best-barcelona-replacement-for-robert-lewandowski)

Alvarez’s agent, Fernando Hidalgo, has now shared his thoughts and hinted at a possible future move.

> “Today he’s at Atlético and he’s very happy here, as are Atlético. We’ll see how things evolve; football evolves quickly and good things will happen,” he told El Chiringuito.

>

> ”He received many calls, but Atletico’s position is that Julián continues next season. He has admiration for Spanish clubs and, having followed Leo’s career since he was a child, I don’t think there are many Argentines who don’t have a feeling for Barça, especially with how the team played this season.

>

> “Julián is very grateful to many members of Barça who have always spoken very well of him, such as the case of centre-back Pau Cubarsí. That makes him motivated.”

Alvarez moved to Atletico last season from Manchester City and signed a six-year deal. He scored 29 goals in all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side in his first season with the club.
