Big changes are happening at Wolves, and fans will surely be excited by what the club’s hierarchy have realised.
Wolves finished 16th in the Premier League in 2024/25.
It was the club’s lowest finish since returning to the top-flight in 2018, but fans are optimistic about the future under Vitor Pereira.
Wolves are now instigating a restructure which, with Matt Hobbs having now left the club following the dissolving of his sporting director role.
Wolves are moving to a more fluid structure, which will see Pereira have more of a say, and Jorge Mendes, Gestifute and Valdir Cardoso have more influence.
And it’s thought Wolves are in talks to bring in Domenico Teti as a new technical director, after he worked with Pereira at Al-Shabab.
Wolves-supporting Journalist Johnny Phillips, who broke the news of the restructure, was on the radio last night speaking in more detail about the reasons – and those who have been on the fence about this will surely be feeling a little better now.

Wolves have been on a decline since finishing seventh for two seasons in a row following their promotion.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Some have put the decline down to poor recruitment, which has involved less reliance on Mendes and his associates in recent years.
But Phillips said last night on BBC Radio 5 Live that the penny has now dropped for Wolves executives and that they realise they can’t gamble with the club’s Premier League status.
He said: “I think the penny has dropped with lots of people higher up that you have to invest to a certain level if you want to progress the club. Or at least keep them in a position where they’re not just lingering above the relegation zone and fighting a losing battle almost from the opening months of the season.
“I think the past two years have had a slight sense of waste about them in that, Wolves have been on the back foot behind the eight ball and they’ve then spent time trying to recover their positions.
“It would be nice to think that you could have a starting block when the squad is in good shape at the start of the season, rather than maybe bringing in players in the mid-season transfer window and desperately trying to avoid a relegation battle.”
A potentially exciting transfer window waits Wolves
The Phillips interview is really interesting, and he paints the picture that this window is going to potentially be quite exciting.
Seemingly, the feeling behind the scenes is that a different approach is required this time around.

Wolves have been languishing at the wrong end of the table for too long, and clearly greater investment is needed.
The restructure strongly hints that the approach will be slightly different, and there’s a good chance we could now see some household names coming in, with big-name players like Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri leaving.
Or at least, players who are ready to make an impact now, and not prospects for the future.
