Everton make approach for 15 G/A star – Club ‘will obviously’ evaluate offers

Villarreal’s Thierno Barry has been included in Everton’s target list for this summer.

The striker left FC Sochaux for Belgian side SK Beveren in 2022 and moved to FC Basel a year later. He was again on the move in August of last year when Villarreal signed him from the Swiss club.

Barry could continue the trend of changing clubs as Everton are looking at him for next season.

That’s according to Cadena Ser, and their title says the Toffees have knocked on the La Liga club’s door for the 22-year-old.

The Frenchman impressed in his debut season for Villarreal, scoring 11 goals and registering four assists from 37 games. His performances have caught the Merseyside club’s attention, and the report states they have asked about his situation.

At this moment in time, Villarreal aren’t planning to sell as they feel Barry hasn’t ‘reached his peak’ yet. Despite their intention, the report states the Spanish club ‘will obviously listen to any offer’ they’ll receive for him.

In other words, if David Moyes’ side were to make a bid for Barry, Villarreal will evaluate it.

Cadena Ser say the frontman has a €40m release clause and make no mention of the fee needed to convince Villarreal.
