Sunderland defender Trai Hume has said he is ‘happy’ at the Stadium of Light amid links to Wolves and Everton.
Sunderland’s full-back is said to be on the radar of the Premier League pair, as reported by Sky Sports. SAFC will hope that they will be able to keep hold of him this summer.

Hume, 23, is a key player for the Black Cats. He is under contract in the North East until June 2027.
He has said, as per a report by BBC Sport: “I’ve said it ever since I moved to Sunderland, I really love my football here. I love playing. I love the club, I’m happy where I’m at and if anything happens it’s from the club. I love playing for Sunderland so I’m happy being there.”
He added: “We didn’t dominate both games (in the play-offs against Coventry City), we had to dig in and we had to stay strong as a team and stick together. Personally, that’s the way I like to win games. I like to do it together as a team and you have to work hard to earn that.
“We worked as hard as we could, and to get those two late goals there was relief, joy and all the emotions you can think of really.”

Sunderland have an important couple of months ahead of them as they gear up for life in the top flight. SAFC secured their promotion from the Championship last month after beating Sheffield United in the play-off final at Wembley.

Hume, who is a Northern Ireland international with 20 caps under his belt, was signed back in 2020. Prior to his move, he rose up through the academy ranks at Linfield before breaking into their first-team.
He has become one of the Black Cats’ most prized assets over the last five years. He has made 132 appearances in all competitions, 44 of which came in the last campaign, and he has scored seven goals.
What now for Sunderland this summer?
Sunderland need to get their recruitment right as they prepare for the step up to the Premier League. SAFC can’t afford to lose crucial members of their squad like Hume.

Regis Le Bris was appointed as their manager 12 months ago and arrived in England as a bit of an unknown quantity. He had previously worked at FC Lorient and the Black Cats took a real gamble on him.
Their decision to appoint the Frenchman has turned out to be a masterstroke though and he managed to get them up at the first time of asking.
