Arsenal make Show Racism the Red Card Hall of Fame

We are delighted to announce that we have been honoured into the Show Racism the Red Card Hall of Fame.

In an awards ceremony at 10 Downing Street, we were presented with the honour in recognition of our longstanding work promoting anti-racism through our direct local schools' outreach, as well as our wide-reaching community work, which is now in its 40th year.

Alongside the club's award, legends Anita Asante, Perry Groves and David O'Leary also received individual honours for their contribution to tackling racism in football.

Show Racism the Red Card was founded in 1996 with the Hall of Fame created to honour and thank the patrons who have supported the charity's hard work.

Our CEO, Richard Garlick, and Chief Operations Officer, Karen Smart, accepted the award on behalf of the club at a reception hosted by Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, who paid tribute to our ongoing community campaigns, including our No More Red in partnership with adidas.

We were honoured alongside Portsmouth, Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland in the gardens of 10 Downing Street.

Shaka Hislop, Honorary President of Show Racism the Red Card said: “As much as we at Show Racism the Red Card have always used football players, their stories and experiences of racism and anti-racism as the foundation of the work we do, none of this would've been possible without the support of football clubs.

"Arsenal, Bolton, Portsmouth and Sunderland Football Clubs have gone above and beyond in not only supporting their players' efforts, but have added in giving of their facilities, reach and impact in a commitment to not only their fan bases, communities but further to young people in every corner of the UK. Their induction into the Hall of Fame is a fitting tribute to the impact they’ve made on and off the pitch.“

Show Racism the Red Card, the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity, has delivered essential training to our NCFE Sixth Form college students and worked alongside us for over 20 years to educate young minds. Together, we are driving change.
