West Ham United women’s team defender **Jessie Stapleton** has been named the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) Young Women’s International Player of the Year after a standout 2024/25 campaign.
Winning the prestigious award, announced at the 35th FAI International Awards ceremony, comes on the back of a productive season on loan at Barclays Women's Championship club Sunderland for the 20-year-old, who was a key figure in helping the Lasses to a seventh-placed finish.
All told, Stapleton made 23 appearances across all competitions, finishing the campaign with two goals and one assist.

In addition, the Dublin native once again demonstrated her talent at international level, helping Ireland to a Women's Nations League promotion play-off spot, having started all four out of six Group B2 fixtures, and notched her second senior international goal for her country in their 4-0 hammering of Greece in April.
Everyone at West Ham United would like to congratulate Jessie on winning the award and looks forward to welcoming her back to the Club this summer.
