Nick Pope has emerged as a target for Leeds United ahead of the summer.
The Whites look set to be on the hunt for a new goalkeeper as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
This comes after Illan Meslier was dropped towards the end of the Championship campaign after a series of howlers throughout the year.
Now, the LS11 club have shown an interest in Pope with a fresh verdict emerging ready for the upcoming transfer window.

There is no doubt that the 33-year-old would represent a hugely positive signing for the keeper after his spell as Newcastle United’s number one.

The Englishman made the switch to St James’ Park in 2022 from Burnley and has played a key role in their rise to the Champions League.

With that being said, Eddie Howe could be on the lookout for a new number one in the summer, with Pope potentially set to be on the chopping block.
This has sparked conversation from former Leeds star Ross McCormack on talkSPORT (5 June, 07:42am), as he believes Pope would be an excellent addition in LS11.
He said: “I think a goalkeeper and a reliable number nine [will be the top targets]. I think it’s paramount for Leeds. Nick Pope, if they can get him, unbelievable signing, superb.”
As exciting as this move could prove to be, it does appear that the ex-Charlton man is keen on remaining at Newcastle even if he is to become a back-up option in the North East.
Pope could make Leeds U-turn
A replacement for Meslier is certainly a requirement coming into the new campaign if the Whites want any hopes of remaining in the Premier League.
Although an alternative for Joel Piroe may be on the mind of McCormack, the focus has to be on a new number one option.
This could see Farke re-engage in talks with Pope over a potential move, especially if Newcastle are to sign a number one.
At this stage of his career, it would make little sense for the Englishman to sit on the bench, especially as Leeds can offer regular Premier League minutes.
It will certainly be interesting to see if a deal can be achieved ahead of the season or whether the keeper will stand by his initial stance.
