Nottingham Forest and West Ham need to move as rival bidders step up efforts for target

Nottingham Forest and West Ham United are facing competition from RB Leipzig for Galatasaray forward Barış Alper Yılmaz.

That’s according to Sabah, who say Leipzig are ready to sign at the negotiating table with the Turkish side and get a deal done.

They report that the German side want to add the 25-year-old to their ranks and beat Nottingham Forest and West Ham to the punch.

He has both English teams as interested parties, with Nottingham Forest moving for him in the January transfer window and West Ham making a move at the end of May. Yilmaz, for his part, has made it clear he would like Galatasaray to accepts bids for him.

Now Leipzig have made their move, showing a willingness to sit down with Galatasaray and work out a deal. The Turkish side value their star man at more than €30m. They’ve so far resisted any efforts to take him away from them.

They know, though, that Yilmaz wants to continue his career in Europe and have already started to search for a potential replacement.

The question is where Yilmaz ends up, with West Ham and Nottingham Forest now needing to decide whether to battle Leipzig for him.
