Since winning the Community Shield in 2020, Arsenal has failed to lift any silverware, but on-field improvements suggest that it is just a matter of time before Arteta’s team wins a trophy. Last season’s Champions League run gave a glimmer of hope, and the club have finished second in the Premier League for the last three seasons.
The topbetting sites UK consumers have access to see Arsenal as the second favourite for next year’s Premier League at 5/2, but some good signings could see these odds shorten.

Many fans and experts agree that the club are just a couple of key signings away from winning a title, especially with Liverpool’s squad ageing and Manchester City going off the boil. The imminent arrival of Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi could be a great bit of business, with the defensive midfielder set to seal a £50 million switch, and he could be the first of a few new faces this Summer.
One player who is being strongly linked with a return to the Premier League isformer Manchester City forward Leroy Sane. Sane has enjoyed a successful 5 years in Germany with Bayern Munich, and the winger is set to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in June. Arteta has been linked with a move for a wide player, with Nico Williams apparently being priced out of a move.
Being able to secure a talent of Sane’s level without a transfer fee would be a massive coup, but other clubs will be interested, including rivals Tottenham.
Another position that Arsenal has been crying out to fill in recent seasons is the striker role. Links with Isak of Newcastle regularly crop up, but after another impressive season, his value has consistently risen.
Gabriel Jesus’s injury woes have hampered his time at the club, and Kai Havertz has never really made the position his own when filling in. Many critics have claimed that a consistent number 9 who can stay injury-free will be the key to winning Arsenal their first Premier League title since 2003.
Recent rumours have identifiedSporting CP’s Victor Gyokeres as the man who can turn things around for the London club. Gyokeres joined Sporting for a fee of around £20 million from Coventry after impressing in the Championship with 43 goals and 17 assists in 116 games. Since his move to Portugal, he has been prolific, scoring 97 goals and getting 28 assists in just 102 appearances.
He originally Brighton from IF Brommapojkarna 2018 before being loaned out to St Pauli, Swansea, and Coventry, with Coventry making the deal permanent in 2021. It is believed that the striker, who has impressed with his European form as well as domestically, has a release clause of around £85 million, but a fee closer to £60 million is more realistic.
Arteta has been building something in recent seasons, and it is now time to deliver. If the club can secure these transfers, there is a good chance of improving onlast season’s second-place finish and fighting for the title in season 2025/2026.
