Liverpool Tracking Moroccan Starlet Ait Boudlal

PL champions Liverpool have made a solid move for Rennes’ defensive talent Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal. He is widely seen as a complete and commanding centre-back.

Liverpool Make Early Summer Statement with Youth-Focused Bid

Liverpool’s transfer window is already off to a strong start. Jeremie Frimpong is already through the door and reported deals for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez are moving swiftly. But it’s not just big names and readymade stars the Reds are chasing. As per Le360sport, Liverpool have submitted an official offer for Rennes’ 19-year-old defender Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal.

The Moroccan youngster is known for his composure, strength, and leadership. He is catching eyes across Europe. Newcastle United have also held talks with him. Meanwhile, clubs like Nice, Lille, and even two La Liga teams are keeping close tabs.

Although, the youngster still has three years left on his Rennes contract. But, he may be ready to be in the Premier League spotlight. And especially if it comes from a club like Liverpool.

Ait Boudlal Not Ready for Anfield Yet, but Future Looks Bright

Despite the growing interest, Ait Boudlal isn’t likelyto walk straight into Arne Slot’s starting XI. He hasn’t yet played for Rennes’ senior team. He spent the second half of last season gaining experience at Amiens in Ligue 2, making nine solid appearances.

Although he is still a raw talent, he is great with his football IQ, athletic skills, and leadership. Theses all attributes have drawn comparisons to some of the top centre-backs in the game today.

Liverpool’s plan would be to likely loan him to a Championship club or any other club in Europe. They will need him to develop his skill set, and get him first-team minutes.

The Reds definitely appear to be planning for the future as Virgil van Dijk ages. Landing Boudlal could be another great move that pays off big in a few years.
