Travis Kelce Reacts to Chiefs' Major Retirement Announcement

Travis Kelce had Kansas City Chiefs fans on edge after he seriously considered retirement following the team's heartbreaking Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles back in February.

The 35-year-old, however, ultimately decided to shun retirement by announcing that he planned to remain with the Chiefs and play on--possibly for one final season.

On Wednesday, the Chiefs made an actual retirement announcement. It wasn't Kelce's, though, as the team revealed how it signed two-time Pro Bowl punter Dustin Colquitt to a one-day contract in order for the 43-year-old to officially retire as a Chief.

The team posted a video of Colquitt taking part in Wednesday's Organized Team Activities (OTAs) session at the Chiefs' practice facility. Colquitt kicked in one "final punt" in front of the squad.

Despite not being in attendance for Wednesday's OTAs, Kelce made sure to send a message to Colquitt after the latter's big decision. The 10-time Pro Bowl TE took to Instagram to share his reaction to Colquitt's retirement, as well as the one-time Super Bowl champ's final punt.

"THE LEFT FOOT LEGEND! Chief forever!!" Kelce commented.

It was Colquitt who took the spotlight on Wednesday after his decision to walk away from the game after 17 seasons--15 of which were spent with the Chiefs.

The sad reality, though, is that Kelce's time is also fast approaching. He was on the brink of retirement a few months ago before deciding to return. At this point, it's very much possible that the legendary tight end is entering the final season of what has been an iconic NFL career.
