Mikael Silvestre has urged Manchester United not to sell Alejandro Garnacho to a top flight rival this summer.
Garnacho has been told he can leave United and find a new club, following a falling out with boss Ruben Amorim. The Argentine was left seething after being left out of the United side for their Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.
Now Amorim has told him he can leave Old Trafford - because he isn't in the Portuguese's plans. But former United star Silvestre reckons his old club have to sell Garnacho to a foreign club - instead of one closer to home.
Silvestre told Esports Insider: "I’d imagine that after Amorim's falling out with Alejandro Garnacho following the Europa League final, that Manchester United will be shifting him this summer.
"But I'm not sure where he’d go. I can’t imagine United would be willing to reinforce one of their competitors by letting him go to another Premier League club this summer.

"If I were them, I’d be looking to ship him abroad, instead of giving him to one of their rivals.”
Silvestre, meanwhile, reckons new signing Matheus Cunha will be huge success at United following his £63m switch from Wolves.
The Frenchman added: "I think Matheus Cunha fits in perfectly into Ruben Amorim's system in that central position. He’s got lots of ability to create goalscoring opportunities for himself and has a good mindset.
"He's good at winning the ball and has a match-winning mentality, he hates losing -that's what I like the most about him.
"You need that energy around at a club like Manchester United at the moment.

"In the current squad I think the match-winning mentality is lacking, so it will be good to have someone in the dressing room who has that in abundance, and hopefully it spreads to the rest of the team."
