The argument that "running backs can be found anywhere" is being put on full display by the Steelers' stash of backs this spring.
While there's not a certified "bell cow" in the group, it may turn into the most difficult cut of all. As current No. 1 Jaylen Warren said of the group Tuesday, "In this running back room, nobody's cutting days short. Nobody's cutting days short, nobody's just trying to get out the building, nobody's just checking the boxes there."
That's true of Warren, free-agent acquisition Kenneth Gainwell, third-round pick Kaleb Johnson, and last year's top player on the practice squad Jonathan Ward. But the guy who's under the radar and stays later than all the rest is Evan Hull, who was signed to a futures contract last January after the Colts gave up on their 2023 fifth-round draft pick.
