Manchester United head into the new season hoping for a sharp uplift in form on the pitch. United finished their 2024/2025 campaign in 15th place in the Premier League - with no European football to anticipate after suffering defeat in the Europa League final.

Ruben Amorim is planning a major overhaul of his squad, with Matheus Cunha all-set to arrive from Wolves and talks underway to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, as well. While the United head coach is hoping for a new look squad come August, the players will also be set for the annual release of their new kits.

As seems to be customary, around this time of the year, United's kits for the forthcoming 2025/2026 season have been leaked on social media. Images shared online would suggest kit manufacturer Adidas has designed a third kit featuring black, yellow and blue, which nostalgically harks back to more successful times.

The supposed third strip Amorim's players will be donning, next season, is an attempt to evoke memories of the Eric Cantona era from 1993 to 1995- as per reports from The Mirror.

The updated version lacks a collar and also features Snapdragon as the front-of-shirt sponsor - but it also closely resembles the original Umbro design.

United supporters have shared their thoughts on the supposed new designs. "Third shirt for what? We ain't in Europe," one fan remarked, questioning the necessity of a new kit. "United slowly losing its identity," lamented another supporter.

But, not all feedback was quite a negative, with some fans appreciating a nostalgic aspect. "This is so, so good," enthused one admirer of the kit.

"Is this legit? It looks class," queried another, clearly impressed. A further comment read: "Monochrome badge brings it down to a 9/10 rather than a 10/10," which suggested a near-perfect score but for one minor detail.

The forthcoming home shirt also appears quite traditional - featuring predominantly red with black and white accents - whereas the away kit opts for a striking all-white design.

It remains to be seen how accurate this supposed leak is. It's important to note that while the pictures claim to show what United's kit will look like next season, the club will not confirm anything until the official launch next month.

Fans will patiently have to wait to see the players donning the new attire - as United are currently on their break following their tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong. And with no involvement in this year's Club World Cup, the team will enjoy some downtime before regrouping for pre-season preparations.

United's pre-season kicks-off against Leeds in Stockholm on July 19 - followed by a trip to the United States for fixtures vs West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton. They'll return to Old Trafford for a match against Fiorentina on August 9, ahead of the Premier League's star on August 16.
