REPORT: 37 Goal Striker Is‘Back’On Man United’s Radar As Club Contemplate Delap Alternatives

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen “has come back into” Manchester United’s thinking as they step up their attempts to sign a new No.9, according to reports.

The Red Devils lost out to Chelsea in the race to buy Liam Delap and they are considering their options.

GiveMeSport claim that Osimhen is now being looked at as a genuine alternative, having shown what he is capable of during a loan spell at Galatasaray last season.

The Nigerian international scored 37 times and registered 8 assists in just 41 appearances for the Turkish Super Lig side.

Osimhen already has offers from other teams

It is believed that the 26-year-old has proposals from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, as well as Galatasaray.

So far, other interested Premier League teams, such as Chelsea and Liverpool, have not made a move for Osimhen due to the costs of signing. His wage demands are believed to be excessive, while Napoli are demanding clubs match his €75m (£63m) release clause despite the fact that he is closing in on the final year of his contract with the Serie A champions.

Man United are also looking at other forwards

In addition to Osimhen, the Red Devils have been given encouragement in pursuing Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres. The Swedish international is said to be open to linking up with his former manager Ruben Amorim even though the Red Devils don’t have European football.

Reliable reports have also confirmed that the Manchester club have been offered Paris Saint-Germain’s Goncalo Ramos. There is said to be interest in signing Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta too.

However, with United prioritising a move for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, the addition of a new centre-forward may have to wait until the club have raised more funds through player sales.
