Brentford have rejected an opening offer from Manchester United worth around £55m for Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbeumo has informed Brentford of his desire to join Manchester United, with the winger turning down interest from Premier League rivals in favour of Old Trafford. The Cameroon international has just 12 months on his current contract, though Brentford have an optional one-year extension.

The Bees have now turned down a bid worth £55m, with the West London side unhappy with the package proposed. Brentford are understood to be using Matheus Cunha’s £62.5m move to Manchester United from Wolves as a gauge for their valuation.
Brentford demand £60m+ from Manchester United for Mbeumo
Sky Sports are reporting that Brentford are prepared to sell Mbeumo at the right price but value the 25-year-old in excess of £60m. There is also a demand for a higher portion of the add-ons to be player-performance related and based off club performance.
Mbeumo scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season and added eight assists. He is viewed as an ideal fit for Ruben Amorim’s system, as Manchester United look to add goals and physicality to their side for next season.
Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all enquired for Mbeumo this summer but the player has made clear his preference for Manchester United.
