Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys defensive end, seemed to call out the team’s owner, Jerry Jones, in a recent post from his X account. Parsons was actually responding to a report that quotes his head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, doubting the defensive end’s presence in the minicamp. Parsons responded that he has not “missed a minicamp in 4 years” and would not do so now, even if his contract is not ready.
Parsons and the Cowboys franchise have been in talks for months about a contract extension. Currently, Parsons is in the fifth year option with the team after finishing his four-year deal with them. The defensive end is hoping for a long-term plan with the Dallas Cowboys and hopes to bag a historic deal. However, nothing concrete has come out of his talks with Jerry Jones, who is known to negotiate in his own unique way.
“I will be there! I haven’t missed a mini camp in 4 years! Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook ! I’m preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it’s in the owner’s hands. I’m ready to win a Super Bowl !” Micah Parsons tweeted about him making it to the team’s minicamp, regardless of the state of his contract extension.
Micah Parsons has been playing for the Dallas Cowboys since 2021 and was crowned the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in his league debut. Parsons was bagged by the Cowboys as the 12th pick in the very first round of the 2021 NFL draft. Before being drafted, the defensive end played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Micah Parsons Urged By James Jones To Skip Minicamp
Meanwhile, Micah Parsons is getting different types of advice regarding his future with the Dallas Cowboys. Former NFL wide receiver James Jones recently advised Parsons to skip out on the minicamp until the team owner, Jerry Jones, offers him a contract extension.
“When that first week of training camp hits, and you put them shoulder pads on, and now you’ve got to go 1 on 1 against these tackles and try to get to the quarterback. It’s a real, true possibility of you getting injured. He ain’t going to be there, and he shouldn’t be there if he doesn’t have a contract,” James Jones said on ‘The Facility’.

The Dallas Cowboys are forced to lean on Micah Parsons since he is one of the most valuable players in the team. According to the NFL schedule, the Cowboys will be clashing with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 in the first week of September. Hopefully, Parsons’ contract extension will be solidified weeks before that.
