São Paulo have opened talks to sign Carlos Vinícius when he leaves Fulham on a free transfer at the end of the month.
That’s according to UOL, who report that the Brazilian club’s board are considering formalising an offer for the 30-year-old forward soon.
They explain that the Fulham man fits the characteristics of what the club are looking for. They need a replacement for Jonathan Calleri, who is set to be out injured until 2026.
Vinícius has received inquiries from other teams in Brazil but has not yet made a decision about his future. Fulham announced this week that he would be leaving on a free at the end of his contract. He managed just four appearances under Marco Silva this season.
It’s not the first time he’s been linked with a return to Brazil. Palmeiras opened talks with him in November 2023 but that never progressed. Grêmio also showed interest last year.
Now it is São Paulo who are at the front of the queue and ready to make a formal offer for the Fulham man, who is set to leave at the end of the month and will be available on a free transfer.
