Manchester United have been rejected by Brentford in their pursuit of star attacker Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils are fighting to sign the Cameroon international as part of their summer rebuild under Ruben Amorim.
Whilst Amorim’s faced problems all over the pitch, United’s attack has been significantly poor this season, not able to provide consistency in front of goal.
Joshua Zirkzee has shown some promise in his debut season as a back up however Rasmus Hojlund has consistently shown he’s not ready to be United’s first-choice striker.
As such, United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and are now turning to seal the deal for Mbeumo.
It’s understood that United are close to agreeing personal terms with the attacker as they’re happy to meet his £250,000 per week wage demands.
As such, United have started contact with Brentford, submitting an initial offer to get negotiations formally underway.

Manchester United have Bryan Mbeumo offer rejected
Sky Sports have reported that The Bees have turned down United’s initial offer of £55 million, made up of a £45 million transfer fee and £10 million in add-ons.
Brentford see the signing of Mbeumo as comparable to that of Cunha, and as such see United’s offer as too low considering they met Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause.
However, as The Bees are growing frustrated with how public Mbeumo’s desire to move to Old Trafford has become, they’ve upped the figure to £70 million.
With there now being a £25 million gap between United’s core transfer fee offer and Brentford’s asking price, more negotiations will have to take place.
That said, given Mbeumo’s desire to play at Old Trafford and United’s want to sign him, it won’t be long until we see a second offer get submitted.
