Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Aït-Nouri is preparing to finalise a move to Manchester City in the next few hours.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that the Wolves defender is expected to sign a deal with Manchester City in the coming hours. He has been excused from training with Algeria and will not play in the clash with Rwanda today.
He will be protected and instead head to Paris on Friday before heading to Manchester for a medical with Manchester City this weekend. After that, the 23-year-old will sign his contract at the Etihad.
He is all set to depart Wolves after five years in a deal worth around €50m. his former club Angers will receive a resale percentage worth around €11.5m from the deal.
Manchester City had looked at the Wolves star in the January transfer window and he was also on Liverpool’s shortlist, but Pep Guardiola’s side have now moved to take him from Molineux.
It’s a move he is, seemingly, very excited to make, with L’Equipe reporting that some members of the player’s entourage had “tears in their eyes” over the move.
Why that is the case is not made clear but with a big money move to Manchester City, we’re sure they’re set to earn a top fee for themselves also.
