Jeremie Frimpong has finally met his Liverpool colleagues for the first time since becoming a Red.
The Dutch international sealed his £29.5m ($40M) switch to Anfield last week after his release clause at Bayer Leverkusen was triggered. Liverpool swooped in for the 24-year-old when it became apparent that Trent Alexander-Arnold would be departing.
Opting not to renew his contract at Anfield, the England international officially made the move to Real Madrid in a deal netting the Reds £10M ($13.6M) on Sunday. Now a fully-fledged Liverpool player, Frimpong is currently on international duty with the Netherlands. Ronald Koeman's squad is engaged in World Cup qualification matches this month, facing off against Finland and Malta.
Interestingly, the defender had already reported for international duty before his transfer to Anfield was publicized. He has now been joined by three of his new Liverpool comrades, as Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch all arrived later at the Dutch camp following Liverpool's Premier League title trophy parade.
Van Dijk was captured on film meeting his teammates as the Dutch national team assembled at the KNVB Campus in Zeist, in a video shared on their YouTube channel.
In the behind-the-scenes footage, he can be seen greeting Frimpong for the first time as Liverpool colleagues.
The Reds skipper, surrounded by his international teammates, immediately heads towards Frimpong upon noticing the defender, leading to a heartfelt embrace between the two. Van Dijk is even seen playfully putting his teammate in a headlock as they enjoy an extended hug.

Frimpong had previously disclosed that he had conversations with Van Dijk before sealing his Liverpool transfer.
"Yeah, of course, I have had a few conversations with them," he shared. "Virgil has called me and told me a little bit more about Liverpool and the expectations, those types of things.
"And made me feel like the guys are going to welcome me well. That's what I expect from Virgil with how he is in the national team – he's a big character, captain. They have told me good things."
Frimpong became an internet sensation during his last encounter with a Liverpool player at the Netherlands camp, where he was seen practicing his Scouse accent, greeting Gravenberch with 'You all right, la?' back in March.
Reflecting on the reaction from the Reds' supporters to the viral clip, Liverpool's new signing remarked: "I didn't know it was going to go that viral!".
"For me, it was literally just, obviously Ryan plays for Liverpool and obviously Liverpool is Scouse, so I just did that.
"I didn't think it was going to blow up like this. But yeah, it was funny, I appreciate the support."
