Some interesting news has emerged from the Hungary camp on Thursday ahead of their friendly against Sweden.

Dominik Szoboszlai and his compatriots will host Sweden at the Puskás Arena for 18:30 BST kick-off.

It has been widely reported that Milos Kerkez will complete a move to Liverpool FC this summer.

Now Hungary manager Marco Rossi has confirmed that Milos Kerkez, alongside Barnabás Varga, are ruled out of the fixture.

Rossi did not name a reason, with Hungary outlet M4 Sport reporting that it was “various problems”:

“At his press conference on Thursday, head coach Marco Rossi announced that two starting players will definitely be missing: Milos Kerkez and Barnabás Varga will not play.”

“Rossi did not reveal any details, saying that he could not count on the two players due to various problems.”

Liverpool fans will be hoping that an injury will not threaten to derail the transfer.

Fabrizio Romano reports that “one more round of talks” is needed to finalize the agreement, with both clubs optimistic about concluding proceedings swiftly.

Kerkez’s eagerness to join Liverpool has been a driving force, with the 21-year-old rejecting interest from Manchester City to prioritize a move to Anfield.

🇭🇺 Milos Kerkez will miss Hungary’s game against Sweden tomorrow as confirmed by Marco Rossi.
