Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers are keen on Reading midfielder Charlie Savage this summer.
The 22-year-old has spent two years at Reading and racked up nearly a century of appearances since making the move from Manchester United in 2023.
Finding form and excelling under Noel Hunt, the Wales international registered the second-most assists in League One last season and became a true fans favourite.
Understandably, this has seen him catch the eye of suitors higher up the pyramid.
[Reports](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-wrexham-birmingham-city-and-portsmouth-race-to-signcharlie-savage/) have linked the combative midfielder to Wrexham, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth.
His father, Robbie Savage, made 88 appearances for Birmingham City between 2002 and 2005 and made 100 appearances for Blackburn between 2005 and 2008.
_The Reading Chronicle_ understands that Portsmouth and Blackburn have shown the most intent to date, but nothing concrete has come to the table.
It is, however, understood that the player is happy in Berkshire and has no desire to leave this summer.
Still under contract and with a 50 per cent sell-on due to Manchester United when he leaves, it would take a substantial offer to force the club into a sale.
This is even more significant with the club currently only having five outfield players under contract at the time of writing.
Speaking to BBC Berkshire on the final day of the season, Savage himself said: "I've got two more years here so you'll be seeing me next season."
