Club unlikley to revive interest in West Ham man – Player’s rise has changed transfer plans

Feyenoord are unlikely to revive their interest in West Ham United youngster Luis Guilherme, as he’d now be more of a hindrance than a help.

That’s according to Voetbal International journalist Martijn Krabbendam, [via Feyenoord Pings](https://www.feyenoordpings.nl/guilherme-transfer-onwaarschijnlijk-dat-had-niemand-verwacht/), who say there is unlikely to be a second effort for the 19-year-old.

Feyenoord were keen on a deal for Guilherme at the end of the January transfer window as they looked to strengthen their squad late on.

A deal was progressing, but West Ham blocked it at the final minute, with an injury to Crysencio Summerville seeing them change their plans and decide to keep Guilherme until the end of the season.

Several reports have made it clear that Feyenoord retain an interest in the Brazilian, particularly as they look destined to lose star man Igor Paixão in the coming weeks and months. He has interest around Europe after impressing with the Dutch side.

Instead, Feyenoord have seen their own young talent Anis Hadj Moussa rise to the fore, meaning their focus is no longer on Guilherme. That’s according to Krabbendam, who insists the Eredivisie side will now spend their money elsewhere and not on the West Ham man.

“Feyenoord wanted to do business with West Ham United, but the asking price was too high last winter,” he said.

“The Brazilian attacker is considered a very great talent and the Rotterdammers wanted to bet big on him, but as is often the case, plans are overtaken by current events. Nobody at Feyenoord expected that Anis Hadj Moussa would have such a big impact in his first season.

“His performances in the Champions League put him on the map. Hadj Moussa can make a difference with his qualities and quickly caught the attention of big clubs.

“If Feyenoord now pays a record amount for Guilherme, it will bring in a competitor for a player who represents a considerable transfer value. The Brazilian is a right striker and therefore not a potential successor to Igor Paixão.”
