Joselu has become a fan favorite at Real Madrid, so much so that the Spanish team is keen to replicate his success with a Liverpool legend.
Despite not making his mark in the Premier League with Stoke and Newcastle, he's still revered in Madrid for his pivotal goals that led to Real's 2024 Champions League triumph, particularly his last-minute double in the semifinal victory over Bayern Munich.
Joselu, a product of Madrid's youth system who now plies his trade in Qatar, was only back at the club on loan for that season. However, he managed to net 18 times in 49 appearances across all competitions, playing a crucial supporting role.
After a season without such a player - a campaign that saw Madrid miss out on the La Liga title to Barcelona and exit the Champions League at the quarterfinal stage to Arsenal - the Spanish team is reportedly scouting for someone to fill a similar role in its squad.
Enter Roberto Firmino.
The Liverpool legend is rumored to be considering a shock move to the Bernabeu, according to Spanish outlet AS.
The 33-year-old Brazilian has just wrapped up his second season in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ahli.

Despite initial difficulties adjusting to life in Saudi Arabia, Firmino has scored 21 goals in 65 appearances and led Al-Ahli to the AFC Champions League Elite title this season.
According to that AS report, Madrid is on the hunt for an "old school" No. 9.
While Firmino's style at Liverpool doesn't exactly fit this description, it is believed he could effectively support Kylian Mbappe in attack for a season.
Firmino is also viewed as a potential key substitute, allowing the club's young forwards to mature for another year.
Gonzalo Garcia, 21, has particularly stood out after netting 25 goals for the B team this season.
If Firmino does make the move to the Bernabeu, he would be reuniting with Madrid's latest signing Trent Alexander-Arnold, who shared many victories with him during Jurgen Klopp's successful reign at Anfield.
He would also join fellow Brazilians Eder Militao and Vinicius Jr. in the squad, but it remains uncertain whether new Madrid boss Xabi Alonso will be open to the transfer.
