Hollywood royalty gives Jaguars a shout-out while promoting John Wick spinoff

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the midst of OTAs preparing for the 2025 NFL season, but that didn't stop them from taking a break and attending a screening of Ballerina, a spinoff of the famous John Wick movies. Its protagonist, Ana de Armas, took the opportunity to wish the Jags a great season.

The Jaguars attended an exclusive screening of the film and shared several pics of the event, along with a message from Armas on social media.

"Hi, Jaguars. This is Ana de Armas. I'm so excited to have you be one of the first to see my new film, Ballerina," Armas said via a clip by the team's social media account. "Hope you're ready for it. Wishing you the best of luck on your upcoming season. Go Jags!"

Ballerina is the latest entry in the John Wick saga. The series has four movies and one TV series, The Continental, where it's explained how it all got started.

In case you aren't familiar with it, Jon Wick is a series where paid assassins are the norm. The titular character, John Wick, was the best of the best, but wanted to call it quits to be with his wife. However, he returns to the hitman lifestyle when a group of thugs steal his career and kill his dog Daisy.

The series then narrates Wick's return to the assassin life. And Ballerina takes place during the events of the third and fourth entries.

Aside from de Armas, other famous actors who appear on Ballerina include the late Lance Reddick, Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves. Below is the trailer for the movie.

Ana de Armas giving the Jaguars a shoutout is exciting news

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a loyal fan base that will root for them no matter how tough things get. That said, they don't have as many celebrity fans as other bigger franchises, such as the Las Vegas Raiders or the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Some famous fans of the Jags include Gene Hackman, former Olympian Ryan Murphy, Allman Brothers guitarist Derek Trucks, actor Patrick Heusinger, and actor/producer Asher Grodman, who directed the team's 2022 schedule release.

Circling back to Ana De Armas' shout-out, it's great to see the Jaguars get the spotlight. Because they're a small market team and haven't won many games in recent years, they don't get nearly as much attention as other teams. The good news is that they could change that in 2025.

Trevor Lawrence, the first overall pick in 2021, is poised to have a bounce-back season after struggling with injuries last year. Similarly, Jacksonville made a bold trade to select two-way star Travis Hunter in the past NFL Draft. Both players are having a strong offseason and could ultimately help the Jags make a strong playoff push.

The bottom line is that the Jaguars are in a position to make noise in 2025, and getting recognition from an actress of Ana de Armas' caliber will only help them get more attention.
