Manchester City and Jack Grealish look to be on two separate paths as the summer transfer window begins to hot up ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The winger made 32 appearances across all competitions with three goals scored and five assists bagged. However, he scored just once in the Premier League and many of his appearances came as a substitute.

From January onwards, Grealish became accustomed to being an unused substitute for Pep Guardiola and that led many to assume he leave this summer. However, now the market has opened and reports he'll set to be left out of City's squad for the Club World Cup, speculation about his future at the Etihad Stadium is increasing.

MEN Sport has rounded up the latest surrounding Grealish's future below.

Guardiola's opinion

Following the final game of the season, Guardiola seemed to suggest that a move away from City could be the best course of action for all involved. "Of course Jack has to play," he told reporters at Craven Cottage.

"He's an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days. It didn't happen this season and last season either.

"He needs to do it, and that's with us, or another place. And that's a question for Jack, his agent, and the club.

"If he stays it will be fine and he fought like he fought from day one to make a contribution, but not today."

Grealish's true feelings

A clearly frustrated Grealish hit back at comments on social media made about himself following Gabby Agbonlahor's claims on talkSPORT that Guardiola's snubbing of him was 'personal'. When one player suggested that his form was not up to scratch, the winger wrote: "Haha I've been bad lately?

"Scored three goals in my last three appearances over 45 mins but okie dokie love x." To the comments made by Agbonlahor, Grealish also responded: "What u want me to do, score a hatty (hat-trick) in 20 (minutes)?"

City future clear

Exactly where Grealish will be playing his football next season is unclear but what is looking beyond doubt is that he will not be in the United States this month. Reports are circulating that the winger will be left out of the travelling squad for the Club World Cup and if that is the case, an exit from the Etihad Stadium seems guaranteed.

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs to have been linked with Grealish's services.
