The search is on for the new head coach of the New York Knicks, and it doesn’t sound like there is a frontrunner for the position.
However, speaking on “First Take,” Jay Williams proposed someone for the role.
But his choice already has a job in the NBA.
“I do think there is a coach out there that is currently coaching the Houston Rockets that would be the most amazing fit in New York City, and that’s Ime Udoka. Look, the Knicks have money to spend. I think Ime Udoka is the choice. I think he is the person you run towards, and I think you find any way to pry him away from the Houston Rockets organization and bring him to the New York Knicks, because I think he epitomizes who the New York Knicks are as a franchise,” Williams said.

Ime Udoka seems happy coaching the Houston Rockets, and so he probably wouldn’t even listen to an offer for a job with the Knicks.
However, Williams noted that the Knicks have a lot of money to throw around, so if they wanted to make him a sizeable contract, they could.
But will they?
Even though fans don’t have insight into it, the Knicks are surely putting together a lengthy list of people who could coach the team.
Over the next days and weeks, they will meet with them all and then offer the role to someone who can guide the team on both ends of the court.
They want someone who can be aggressive, rely on the bench more, and make adjustments when necessary.
The team is aiming to be the best in the East as soon as possible, so they need to be very careful with this selection.
Udoka might be a good fit, but the Knicks likely aren’t considering him because of his current job.
