Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri will have been pushing to seal a move to Man City in order to link-up with Pep Guardiola.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed how he expected the 23-year-old to react to that major interest in him.
Following a disappointing campaign that ended without any silverware, Guardiola‘s side will be keen to strengthen their squad to avoid a repeat of that this season.
There have already been links between Man City and Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki, who would help to replace the outgoing Kevin De Bruyne.
Left-back is another position they may want to strengthen this summer, having struggled for a consistent option in that position.
Amid those issues, it has emerged that Man City were keen to sign Ait-Nouri from Wolves in order to solve that problem.

Rayan Ait-Nouri keen to seal Etihad switch
Wolves have already lost one key player this summer, with Matheus Cunha sealing his switch to Man United earlier this month.
As a result, O’Rourke has revealed that Ait-Nouri will also have been eager to move on from Molineux ahead of the start of next season.
He also does not believe that Wolves will make it too difficult for the Algerian international to seal his move to Man City.
“I think he’s a smart signing. Ait Nouri, I think he’s only going to get better and better.” he told Football Insider.
“He’s done well for Wolves, probably playing more as a wing-back role for them, but yeah, great going forward. Got good energy, got good legs.
“I think if they get him for around £40-£50million, it could be a good signing. He could nail down that left-back spot for years to come, and I think it’s been a problem area for City this season.
“So yeah, it makes sense to me to get this deal done, and I don’t see how Wolves will stand in his way, especially now they’ve let Cunha go as well. I’m sure Ait Nouri will try and push for this move to join Pep Guardiola at Man City.”

Wolves facing growing exodus over the summer
Having improved considerably following the arrival of Vitor Pereira as manager midway through the campaign, Wolves will be aiming to build on their 16th place finish in the coming campaign.
It looks though, as if they will have to do that without the services of more key players than just Cunha and Ait-Nouri.
Football Insider recently revealed that Galatsaray are pushing to sign Wolves captain Nelson Semedo on a free transfer with his contract expiring at Molineux this summer.
As a result, Pereira may be hoping for just as busy a summer for his side, as Guardiola will be eyeing for Man City.
