Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister says Man City have a player he always wants to kick on the pitch

Alexis Mac Allister has faced some of the best players in the world throughout his football career.

The midfielder has contested games with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior in recent years; however, there is one Man City star who seems to get under the Argentine’s skin every time they play against each other.

The Liverpool star is not afraid of a battle when he enters the field of play, with Jurgen Klopp stating that Jeremy Doku could have killed Mac Allister when the pair clashed in 2024.

With this in mind, Mac Allister’s recent comments about one Man City star should come as a surprise, with the Reds midfielder stating that he wants to kick the player every time they meet.

Alexis Mac Allister admits he wants to kick Jack Grealish

At Aston Villa, Jack Grealish was one of the trickiest players to come up against in the Premier League before Pep Guardiola changed the winger’s style of play to fit what his team needed.

The move to the Etihad Stadium has not worked out for the Englishman; nevertheless, Mac Allister has admitted that the 29-year-old is still one of the hardest players to play against and that he often feels like kicking him when they play just to stop him.

“Grealish – you feel like kicking him,” Mac Allister told The Mirror. “But even when you do, he gets right back up. And somehow, that makes you feel like you’re winning!”

Grealish’s future at Man City is up in the air ahead of the new season, and Mac Allister might not have to face the winger anymore, as AC Milan are one of the favourites to sign the Man City star.

Only time will tell what clubs are really interested in the Englishman, as many football fans would now like to see the 29-year-old remain in the Premier League after Mac Allister’s comments.

Alexis Mac Allister’s record against Man City

Since Grealish joined Man City in 2021, Mac Allister has faced the English winger eight times, winning two, drawing three and losing in the remaining three.

The Argentina star has scored twice in those contests and picked up one yellow card in a 3-0 defeat to City back in 2022, which was given for taking down Bernardo Silva.

The two players’ careers have gone in different directions since that day, with the Liverpool star currently one of the best players in the Premier League, while Grealish’s future seems to be in limbo.

Many football fans hope to see the Englishman find a club where he can rediscover his old form, as the winger can be electric on his day, and could be a valuable asset for many teams.
