Kalvin Phillips has appeared on Everton’s radar this summer, with David Moyes keen on the midfielder.
Phillips has had a disappointing time of it since leaving Leeds United, but a Moyes resurgence could get him back to his best.
Everton are interested in Phillips once again this summer after previous interest last August.
The 29-year-old is looking for an escape from Man City, with Pep Guardiola looking for a serious overhaul in their squad, and Moyes could be exactly what Phillips needs right now.
This isn’t the first time the pair could join forces though, as they enjoyed a short period at West Ham, with Everton potentially next in the pipeline.

Thankfully for the Toffees, Idrissa Gana Gueye signed a new contract, meaning they have a reliable option in the middle of the park.
But Moyes will know he’ll need to shuffle the pack throughout the campaign, and that could be the perfect role for Phillips as he looks to regain his form.
The City star hasn’t had a strong period of football since his days at Elland Road, with loan spells at West Ham and Ipswich Town failing miserably.

Despite this, Moyes knows exactly what the midfielder needs as the Scot spoke on Phillips towards the end of his spell with the Hammers in a press conference in 2024.
“He didn’t necessarily need to be improved; he just needed game time, and that takes a bit of time,” said Moyes.
“Kalvin (Phillips) will continue to improve with the more game time he gets, and he is showing that at the moment.
“Hopefully, we can bring him along and get him back to the level where he was in recent seasons.”

It could be deemed a controversial move with all his injuries and failed loan spells, but there is clearly a player there in Phillips.
Sean Dyche evidently had the same idea as Moyes with Everton contacting Phillips’ camp previously, and Dyche’s successor could be about to do the same.
Two managers with a keen eye for talent clearly says something, and there’s a reason why Guardiola wanted Phillips in the first place after his time at Leeds.
Phillips’ statistics in first Premier League season (20/21)
Games played 29
Long ball accuracy % 63.6%
Chances created 35
Duels won 155
Tackles won per 90 1.41
But, his time at City has proven he can struggle, and that’s exactly what’s happened to Phillips, losing his spark from what made him at Leeds.
But Moyes suggesting he needs game time to improve might be all Everton fans need to suggest he’s coming to the club this season.
The Toffees manager knows there is a player there, and with the right coaching and game time, Everton could mark the return of the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’.
